I am so excited to be the newest assistant principal at Hazel Green High School. I have enjoyed getting to know our faculty and staff as well as our students and community.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of North Alabama, obtained a Master in Nutrition and Health Promotion from Mississippi State University, and graduated from Samford University with a Master in Instructional Leadership. I am currently working on my Educational Specialist in Instructional Leadership at Jacksonville State University.
My 17 years of teaching, which extend both overseas and stateside, include experience in teaching history, computer applications, health, and physical education. I have served as a head coach for several athletic teams including soccer, swimming, and volleyball. I have served in a wide variety of leadership roles both in education and in the community.
My husband Christopher and I have been married for 11 years. We have several fur babies that complete our family. We both like to stay active and can often be found outside or traveling. Our dog, Benny, has recently completed training to work as a Therapy Partner team with me where we work together as a therapeutic tool for the community.
Since I became a teacher, my goal has been to impact the lives of the students I teach. As an assistant principal, I want to provide the support and resources for students and teachers to be successful.
I am excited to be at Hazel Green High School and look forward to working with the students, teachers, parents, and community.
I am proud to be joining the Trojan Family.
