I have taught at HGHS since 1999. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama and my Master’s degree from Auburn University. As part of my undergraduate and graduate work, I have studied abroad in Spain and Mexico.
The Foreign Language Department tries to offer a trip to target language countries every other year; I have traveled with students to Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, and France. Please contact me directly for information about our next trip.
In addition to my teaching duties, I am a sponsor for Prom, Spanish Honor Society, and the Sunshine Club.
Outside of school, my interests include travel, reading, anything on the water, attending events in support of my husband (Matt Dean at BHS) and 3 stepsons (BHS, MCHS, and Central) and seeing what the world looks like through the eyes of my 3 year-old son, who is named after Super Man (Clark, not Kal-El).
